I will overwhelm 'serious combatant' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-bout match which will be broadcast in real-time on the streaming platform.

British boxer Joshua declared he will "dominate completely" the American and "break" the American as the two fighters came face-to-face to build hype for next month's boxing match.

Ex two time unified title holder Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge mismatch - at Miami's Kaseya Center on December 19th.

Boxer's Attitude

"I will injure his face and break his body up. I'm here to prove my superiority," Joshua, 35, declared.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I intend to seriously aim to injure him. That's my intention."

Respectful Interaction

Despite such comments, a composed Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - usually known for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul rather targeted ex Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian rejected a bout proposal.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Joshua, at the same time, criticized British rival Tyson Fury - and declined a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.

"Jake Paul outshines Fury - he's present here," Joshua commented.

"I give him credit for that."

Legitimate Fighter

Despite saying he intends to hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his rival's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a serious fighter," he stated.

Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mainly boxed MMA fighters or faded names since entering professional boxing.

He lost to British fighter Fury in last year.

Financial Attraction

Still, the relative newcomer continues to be one of boxing's greatest money-making draws, regularly earning massive paydays.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28 year old forecast a knockout win in rounds four or five and stated he would stop the much-anticipated Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly being planned for 2026.

"The next fight will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Paul stated.

Physical Disparity

As both boxers participated in the customary face-off, with their physical disparity on show, it drove home just how improbable this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the match is actually happening.
